For technical – organizational problems the Church of Orsanmichele in Florence has stopped the “Musical Vespers”, the concerts serie that hosted the performance by the organist Simone Stella of the complete organ works by Dieterich Buxtehude. According to this change, for the moment the dates of 2010, 25th april and 6th june are cancelled. We hope that there will be the chance to recover these two concerts: in that case, as soon as possible, the new dates will be posted here. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Il clavicembalista fiorentino

L’etichetta italiana OnClassical saluta il 2009, anno dedicato al 250° anniversario della morte del grande compositore George Frideric Handel, con una pregiata uscita discografica: l’esecuzione integrale, in due album, delle Suites de pièces pour le clavecin (leggi: Suites per clavicembalo, libro I, pub. nel 1720 n.d.r.) del genio di Halle, a cura del giovane clavicembalista fiorentino Simone Stella.
Dice OnClassical dell’esecutore: Ad oggi Simone Stella è certamente uno dei migliori giovani musicisti italiani. La sua prima incisione [per OnClassical] rivela un carattere rispettoso, accurato ed altamente musicale: in una parola, una performance matura.

I cd sono stati registrati presso lo studio di OnClassical a Pove del Grappa (Vicenza) con la sapiente regìa di uno dei migliori tecnici del suono italiani, Alessandro Simonetto. E’ stato utilizzato uno splendido clavicembalo fiammingo costruito da William Horn sul modello originale di Joannes Ruckers (Anversa, 1638).

Italian harpsichordist

The italian label OnClassical says goodbye to 2009 celebrating the 250^th anniversary of the death of George Frideric Handel (1759 – 2009) with a valuable recording: the complete Suites de pièces pour le clavecin (The harpsichord Suites, book 1, pub. in 1720) by the genius from Halle, played by the young florentine harpsichordist Simone Stella.

OnClassical about the artist: Simone Stella is certainly one of the best young Italian musicians today. His first recording for OnClassical reveals a character that is respectful, accurate and highly musical; in a word, a mature performance.

The albums were recorded in the OnClassical studio situated in Pove del Grappa (Vicenza, Italy). The recordings were directed by one of the best italian sound engineers, Alessandro Simonetto. The harpsichord used for these performances is made by William Horn on an original model by Joannes Ruckers (Antwerp, 1638).

Domenica 1 novembre 2009 alle ore 17,30 i Vespri Musicali della storica Chiesa di Orsanmichele a Firenze celebrano la festa di Ognissanti con la flautista rumena Ana-Maria Alexandrescu e l’organista fiorentino Simone Stella, che per l’occasione eseguiranno musiche del grande genio barocco Antonio Vivaldi (1678 – 1741).
